Hello, you beautiful people. I hope 2017 is already treating you right.
It’s the Lancôme day here today. I have already spoken about the gracious Lancôme brand before, but if you missed the post and want to check it out, you can do it here.
Today I will share my love for a very special eye palette. I received it, winning the contest organized by my beauty guru – Dave Lackie.
La Palette Saint-Germain – a collaboration between Lancôme and Sonia Rykiel. Not only it’s a limited edition eye palette, it has also gained an additional value in beauty and fashion lover eyes as a collectors piece, now when the world has lost the very talented and the one and only Sonia Rykiel in 2016.
Sonia Rykiel was founded in 1968 in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. This beautiful and unique Fall Collection was inspired by the sensuality, intelligence and irreverence of women from the Parisian left bank.
For the task, Sonia Rykiel artistic director Julie de Libran teamed up with Lancôme makeup guru Lisa Eldridge* to develop a well-edited 12-piece collaboration. “It’s very Left Bank,” says Lola of the final collection, which features packaging by yet another French icon, the street artist André, who cast each package in iconic Rykiel stripes and graffiti squiggles depicting the accoutrements of the city’s cafe culture. /source/
La Palette Saint-Germain packaging is probably one of my favorites. I just want to keep looking at it. Would it be weird to also use it as my desk accessory?! It is a real piece of art after all.
Palette contains six iridescent powder eye shadows – three matte and three shimmery, a multi-use base color, two liners (which will help to transition the look from day to night) hidden under a silver clasp, and a double-ended expert applicator – eye shadow and liner brush. Everything you would need to create endless customized looks.
La Palette Saint-Germain has those classic smokey eye shades – midnight blues, greys and khakis. Little shimmer adds some magic and mystery to the palette. It is trendy, chic, bold and most importantly extremely easy to wear.
The formula is amazing – eye shadows glide on so smoothly and goes from light to medium coverage. Eye liner shades are perfect to upgrade the day time look to evening look. Shadows have a great pigment and are long lasting – that’s a win win. It also has an easy to follow guide attached to the mirror, which will help you to create couple of amazing looks. In my first uses, I appreciated those a lot – the guide served me as a warm up with the palette.
Below you can see some swatches in a different lighting. Palette and it’s shades are truly beautiful. I recommend to check it out.

– STAY BEAUTIFUL –
* Lisa Eldridge is amazing, if you haven’t watched her videos, I strongly recommend. She shares amazing makeup tips and tricks, creates amazing and easy to replicate looks, and her personality is so amazing.
Lisa joined Lancôme as Creative Director of Makeup. Not only does she create tutorials and editorial for the French beauty brand, but she oversees the creation of all limited edition colour collections. She retains her editorial integrity by having a contract that says she has complete creative control over what colours and products she talks about and recommends.

I also like watching Lisa! I find many of the big youtube channels are very crass, but not Lisa. Lisa is always well spoken and professional.
The palette looks fab, I just don’t wear those colours though 😛

Completely agree!! She’s very lovable and I love the looks she comes up with! Are you more into warm tones? Check their Parisian Spirit from the same collection – I want that one too :))

Lol thats so funny because a lot of things I buy I just like the packaging so much that I want to use it as decoration for my desk or something too. But that palette is great I love that the colors are different than the typical bronze-ish colors, smokey eye, nudes that I typically see on most palettes! Not to mention all things Lancome are typically great quality!

Congrats on winning this palette! 😀
I didn’t even know that Lancome did a collab with Sonia Rykiel. The colours in this palette are so “her”. I have a few Lancome shadows (single and quads) and they’re all fantastic – it’s a shame that not more people talk about them. I did pick up that Auda[city] palette (the Lisa Eldridge palette) last year which I haven’t even opened yet!
