-Masking with @Origins favorites-

Masking is fantastic! It’s like a mini SPA created in the comfort of your own home. It’s my escape from the stresses accumulated during the days or a week. It’s a recovery after maybe too much fun weekend. It’s a remedy for whatever skin problem I might be dealing at the time – a lack of brightness, dehydrated skin, blackheads, tiredness etc.

I have always loved Origins masks and today I will talk about three of their top sellers, which also happen to be between my favorites.

Before I introduce you with the masks, here is a little bit of information about the brand itself:

“In the late 80s, Origins stood out among a culture of excess with our minimal approach to beauty. We harnessed the power of plants to create high performance skincare. And in the process revolutionized the beauty business with our return to Nature and commitment to the environment. We created the first cosmetic container recycling program in the industry. And have worked with organizations like Global ReLeaf to plant trees around the world (Origins has helped plant over 500,000 trees globally). Products are manufactured using a combination of renewable resources, wind energy and earth-friendly practices.

In 1990 Origins launches in the US. Our two tree logo stands for yin & yang. It’s a visual representation of the brand pillar: Powered by Nature. Proven by Science.” /source/

With the launch, Origins introduces their Clear Improvement Active charcoal mask to clear pores. A skincare game-changer, it’s still the #1 mask in America.

ACTIVE CHARCOAL MASK TO CLEAR PORES

Nature’s complexion clean-up crew clears the way for skin to act its best. Bamboo Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Skin looks clear, feels perfectly pure.

It’s main ingredient – CHARCOAL is created from Bamboo Ash and valued for its excellent absorption abilities. When applied to skin, it acts like a magnet to draw out dirt, debris and impurities.

This mask is a best seller and a classic in mask world for a reason. Mask is easy to apply, as all of the Origins masks I have used – just the right thickness. It doesn’t really have any scent to and feels cooling and refreshing when layered on. Product dries off very comfortably and after the rinsing skin doesn’t feel dry, it looks fresh and feels clean.

I used it once a week, but you can use it more frequently if you feel a need for it.

Remaining two masks has an apricot as their main ingredient – I really love the scent of it and it’s amazing benefits.

APRICOT – can be traced back nearly 3000 years to ancient Armenia where they were valued for their many therapeutic and healing properties. Apricot Kernel Oil is rich in essential fatty acids like Oleic and Linoleic plus Vitamins A and E. So it’s super protective, nourishing and soothing. And it absorbs on contact, which means no greasy after feel.

10 MINUTE MASK TO QUENCH SKIN’S THIRST

Give thirsty skin a drink. Algae Extracts deliver an extra helping of hydration while emollient-rich Apricot Kernel Oil smoothes and softens dry, dehydrated skin. Moisture levels are instantly boosted. Skin feels happily hydrated, comfortable.

I absolutely love this mask. It’s very light in the texture and smells adorable. It truly gives skin an instant hydration. It feels so comfortable that I just want to keep layering it on. After the use skin feels fresh and looks fantastic. Very light and effective mask.

OVERNIGHT MASK TO QUENCH SKIN’S THIRST

Put dry skin to bed with this ultra-rich, hydrating overnight mask. Avocado and Apricot Kernel Oils deeply and instantly quench compromised moisture reserves and help build a reservoir for tomorrow. While Japanese Seaweed helps repair skin’s barrier to prevent future dehydration and signs of premature aging. Skin awakens comfortable, refreshed, supple.

This one is a night version for the previous mask. Texture is little thicker and richer which makes a lot of sense as it’s an overnight mask. Scent is also lighter, which again makes sense, as you need to put your skin for a rest 🙂

I believe that this mask is one of the tools, that help my skin look better and rested. Parenting can get challenging at times – skin pampering is amazing way to reward yourself.

Skin feels moisturized and looks full of life. I really love this mask trio and would definitely recommend to give these a try. I really like that they also come in little mini sets, which allows you to test them out before committing to a full size.

Let me know your thoughts on these? What other Origins masks have you tried and loved or hated?

  1. I’m pretty sure I have a sample of Drink Up mask somewhere. Need to dig it out to try!
But that charcoal mask looks the most fun teehee… who doesn’t love walking around with black / blue / green face masks?

      1. Not with the mask but lipsticks. She has used her darkest markers and they have stained. Yeah. A mess :)) At the Teeez counter while I was talking to the girls there, addition to swatching she applied a purple vogue – very dark purple- needless to say she looked scary and creepy- the Joker:))
