Burberry Autumn

The beauty world this Fall is getting more and more exciting. So many breathtaking launches. You can tell, that brands have invested a lot of though, creating these beautiful collections, that, a lot of time, are real pieces of art.

Today I’m admiring Burberry’s Fall 2016 Makeup collection.

This collection celebrates and will allow you to replicate Burberry Fall Runway look.

Burberry Group Inc is an English luxury fashion house, mainly focusing on and distributing ready-to-wear outerwear, fashion accessories, fragrances and cosmetics.

Established in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, originally focusing on the development of outdoor attire, the fashion house has moved on to the high fashion market, developing pattern-based scarves, trench coats, and other fashion accessories. Its distinctive check pattern has become one of its most widely copied trademarks.*

Enough with the history, let’s talk about today’s Burberry cosmetics and fragrance.

Burberry has brought their Runaway look to consumers with easy to use tools – a complete package of resources aka makeup.

Earlier this week, I had a chance to have a little sneak peak of the new collection or, more precisely, a part of it. Oh, it’s so glamorous. Sparkles and shine, luxury and exclusiveness. Let me share with you some of my favorites.

Their most popular release, that I’m sure a lot of you have heard about, is the Cat Lashes Eye-Opening Volume mascara.

The innovative hour glass-shaped brush, made with elastomer, hugs, stretches and separates each lash to deliver incredibly fanned-out lashes, defined length and eye-opening volume from corner to corner. The cone-shaped tip can be used to stretch out the outer corner lashes to emphasise a cat-eye look. Rich yet lightweight, the inky formula lifts and sculpts each lash from the root to the tip. The mascara delivers an intense clump-free finish and all-day wear, while lashes remain soft and flexible.*

Mascara is available in 3 shades – a Jet Black No.01, a Chestnut Brown No.02 and a Midnight Blonde No.03 (my favorite) and retails for $32 CAD. We all love mascaras and an “eye-opening volume” definitely sounds like something that could make mornings better (along with the cup of coffee).

Product that grabbed my attention, as soon as I looked at the new collection, was a limited edition illuminating powder for face and eyes – The Runway Palette in Gold. Just look at this beauty. It’s stunning and the pattern is so beautiful.

Inspired by the floral embroidery from the Burberry Women’s wear February 2016 runway show, the luminous gold powder is set in an intricate design, capturing the embellished nature of the collection. Infused with micronised pearls, the silky-smooth powder can be used as a highlighter to illuminate the complexion, leaving skin with a luminous glow, or to add a delicate touch of shimmer to the eyes. The buildable texture enables a customisable finish.*

As I mentioned above, it’s a limited edition and retails for $72 CAD. If the beauty of it, captured your attention, hurry and get yours before it’s gone.

Next I want to mention these two amazing four-shade eye shadow palettes that, rumor has it, will have a third one to join them. These eyes shadow sets will complement your eyes by highlighting, shaping and defining them.

I swatched a Smokey Grey No.01 and a Smokey Brown No.00 – really liked them both, but if I would have to go with only one of them, my vote would go to the cool smokey greys. I think it would look really good with my blue eyes. But really and truly both of the palettes are very pretty and would be easy to work with. Eye shadows are very pigmented and blends nicely. Below you can see a few pictures of the swatches I did.

Before we go further, about the rumor – eye shadow palette that will join these two. Can you guess the color theme? Burberry continues glamour with a gold palette. Yes, that’s right! Let’s wait for it together. In the season when metallic trend is rising, I’m sure it will gain a huge popularity.

Let’s continue the eye theme. Another product that got my attention and affection – the Eye Colour Contour. A mistake-proof, multi-use pen designed to shape, sculpt and create a smokey eye look with an ease.

Eye colour contour in this amazing coppery gold (Midnight Brown No.108) – to die for and grey (Stone Grey N0.124) for your classic smokey eye look. I love that it’s smudge and water proof, you can be sure it will stay where you applied it.

It retails for $32 CAD with some exclusive colours available only at Sephora stores.

If you want to give a runway look a real run, this is what you will need – a glitter, my friend. Burberry brings out the loose glitter – Shimmer Dust Black Glitter No.02 Shimmer Dust Gold Glitter No.01. It can be used in multiple ways – go full Runway look if you dare or use it to create a little accents to spark up you makeup. Retails for $28 CAD.

A pot of playful shimmer dust which can be applied to the face and body. Inspired by our womenswear February 2016 runway show, the loose glitter reflects the colourful sequin detailing that adorns key pieces from the collection. Create an artistic look by dotting the shimmer dust beneath the lower lash line, over Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen.*

Continuing the sparkly runway theme, Burberry also released these pretty cool and fun limited edition nail polishes (retails for $23 CAD)  in 3 colours – Ruby glitter N0.306, Gold glitter N0.451 and Silver glitter No.453.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to admire the new Lip Velvet lipstick shades that are being released – 11 in total. Some really great nudes, corals and bolds. Hopefully, I will be able to update you guys on those very soon.

I will also add another post (in next couple of days) about their amazing new fragrance!

I hope you enjoyed the post and got Fall excited. What are your thoughts on a new collection?

  1. The Smokey Greys eyeshadow palette is gorgeous! I can see myself wearing these colours. I feel naked without my smokey eyes. Always exciting to see the new colours for Autumn. Such an inspirational time of year. I feel so alive and creative! This is a stunning collection!
